The Bull & Bear – Fine Dining Manchester
4 Norfolk Street, Manchester, M2 1DW
The Bull & Bear is located in the former trading room of the old Northern Stock Exchange and is a fine restaurant, bar and hotel experience by Tom Kerridge the TV chef.
Enjoy refined British classic dishes in the unique setting of the elegant domed ceiling of the ‘bear pit’ the elegant former trading room of the Manchester Stock Exchange in the renovated Stock Exchange Hotel. The Bull and Bear is the restaurant at Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville’s Stock Exchange Hotel in Manchester.
The Grade II listed landmark is a striking example of Edwardian architecture from the early twentieth century. It’s refreshingly informal though – you’ll be able to watch football on the many screens and you’ll be impressed, with its marble pillars and wonderful illuminated domed ceiling.
Tom Kerridge has sourced local products, including many Manchester brewers, coffee suppliers, bread bakeries, butchers and salmon smokehouses.
Perhaps start with a cocktail or beer in the bar beside the marble fireplace, then head through to enjoy a tempting mix of British brasserie classics.
If you require a private meal for business or pleasure, in contrast to the main restaurant, there’s The Bank their private dining area.
Expect to pay £30 to £85 to dine, although Tom Kerridge has tried to cater for most occasions and you’re welcome to pop in for a drink, a light bite or coffee.
The Stock Exchange Hotel has 40 rooms, including two signature suites.
The Bull & Bear facilities include wheelchair access, air conditioning, counter dining, and breakfast servings. The Bull & Bear accepts American Express.

Midland Hotel, Peter Street, Manchester, M60 2DS
The French is located in Manchester’s magnificent Midland Hotel, where Rolls met Royce, and much further down the line in its history, where David and Victoria Beckham had their first date.
The restaurant has been thoughtfully restored into a striking dining area, which appears both contemporary yet comfortable and inviting. The French is an intimate hotel restaurant created in the Belle Époque age. and now brought to the modern era with two striking rainbow crystal chandeliers and booths down the centre of the room.
The grand dining room’s opulent feel hasn’t changed, but eating at The French feels less formal than before, but no less impressive.
