A short walk from the Commando Monument, set in seven acres of ancient Scots pine trees, Old Pines is a restaurant and small hotel at Spean Bridge with spectacular views of the Ben Nevis range.

You’ll find a calm and welcoming atmosphere inside the restaurant’s single-storey wooden structure. There were two menus: meat and seafood and a vegetarian menu. You can mix and match from both. Imogen Dalley is the chef and her husband Ken who is at front of house, is a vegetarian.

The location is spectacular – Kinloch Lodge lies just over 10 miles from the Skye Bridge on the southern shores of Skye at the head of Loch na Dal, in the Sound of Sleat. You have a view of Loch na Dal from all the bedrooms and suites, all of which have recently been refurbished.
