Visit Bridlington for its 2 award-winning sandy beaches stretching out on either side of the harbour, its Old Town, the Spa’s world-class acts, activities, zoo, pubs, and restaurants.
Beautifully designed historic promenades provide everything from fun fairs to quiet places where you can sit and people watch and admire the magnificent coastline.
There are shops, attractions, and restaurants a-plenty and the historic Old Town district of Bridlington offers a fascinating contrast to life on the beach.
The Bridlington Spa Theatre on the front provides evening entertainment. There is also the East Riding Leisure Centre, with a family swimming area and a variety of other indoor activities.
Bridlington beach can be bustling alongside the promenade and next to Bridlington Spa. Visitors who go a little further down will find a more tranquil beach stretching for miles, all sandy.
For animal lovers, there is a real treat at Bridlington South Beach, a wide expanse of sand to the south of Bridlington Spa and Bridlington Harbour. Dogs are not allowed on the area closest to the harbour between 1st May and 30th September, but after that short distance, there are no dog restrictions at any time.
Bridlington south beach is over a mile long, after which it becomes known as Fraisthorpe Beach where there are acres of parking and the dog-friendly Cow Shed cafe. This is also also a wonderful area for horse riding on the beach. Horse trailers are allowed in the large Auburn Farm car park. Fraisborough Beach is probably one of the most accessible beaches in Yorkshire, as the car park is almost at the same level.
To the south, this sandy coastline extends further in an unbroken line as far as the Spurn Point and the Humber estuary, making this an excellent spot to go for long, bracing walks at any time of year. From Bridlington, you can walk on the sands for 40 miles to Spurn Point with plenty of places to call off in between.
